What is a private-pool room?
A private-pool room is an individual hotel room, suite or similar accommodation marketed with a pool for that accommodation rather than general hotel guests. Providers can use different terminology, so the individual room description should be checked rather than relying on hotel-level facilities or photography.
A private pool may also be relatively compact or described as a plunge pool. “Private” does not necessarily mean completely screened from neighbouring rooms or public areas.
What to check
- Exclusive use: confirm the pool belongs to the specific room or suite rather than being shared with neighbouring rooms.
- Pool type and size: check whether it is a full pool, plunge pool or another form of private water feature.
- Visual privacy: private use does not automatically guarantee that the pool cannot be overlooked.
- Heating: where relevant, check whether heating is available, seasonal or chargeable.
- Room category: make sure the package price actually includes the private-pool room rather than the hotel's standard room.
- Final availability: the hotel may offer private-pool accommodation without that room type being available for your chosen dates.
The package price matters tooA resort can look affordable at its headline price while the private-pool room pushes the complete holiday beyond budget. RoomSorted's concept is to consider the room requirement alongside the whole-package budget rather than treating the room upgrade as an afterthought.
Private pool as MUST or PREFER?
Use MUST if you would not book the holiday without a private pool attached to the accommodation. Use PREFER if it would improve the holiday but you would consider another suitable room.
The intended RoomSorted model requires reliable room-level evidence before a MUST can qualify as matched.

Private pool or swim-up?
A private-pool room is intended to give the individual accommodation its own pool. A swim-up room generally gives direct access to a pool that may be shared with neighbouring rooms. Always check the exact provider description.
