What is a hot-tub room?
A hot-tub room is accommodation that includes a hot tub, whirlpool or similar bathing feature associated with that specific room. It may be positioned on a balcony or terrace, in a private garden area, or occasionally inside the accommodation.
Hotels use different descriptions for these features, so the exact room category and what is included should be checked rather than inferred from general resort photographs.
What should you check?
Private or shared?
Confirm that the hot tub is exclusively for your room if privacy is important. A resort may also have communal whirlpools or spa facilities that are separate from room amenities.
Where it is positioned
A terrace hot tub, balcony hot tub and indoor whirlpool create very different experiences. Check where the feature sits in relation to the room and outdoor space.
Privacy
Look at neighbouring balconies, paths and surrounding buildings. A private hot tub does not automatically mean the area around it is completely screened from view.
Access and availability
Check whether there are any seasonal, operating or safety restrictions and whether the feature is available as part of the exact room being sold for your dates.
The exact room category
Hotels can offer several visually similar room types with only some including the hot tub. The room name and provider description should specifically confirm the feature.
When should it be a MUST?
If having your own hot tub is one of the experiences you are specifically paying for, make it a MUST. If it would be a welcome extra but you would choose a better room, view or location without one, treat it as a PREFER.
RoomSorted's intended matching approach is to confirm features against the individual room category rather than assuming they apply across a hotel or accommodation block.
